The Artist
Carlos Pollock Souza Costa was born in Brazil and raised between Los Angeles and Rio de Janeiro. A unique talent, Carlos carries art in his veins. His father was Orlando Luiz de Souza Costa, a Brazilian designer and sculptor and one of the Brazilian School of Industrial Design founders. On his mother's side, his grandfather was the American painter Charles Pollock, and his great-uncle was Jackson Pollock, a major figure in the abstract expressionist movement.

Since Carlos' youth, art came out to him naturally in drawing, lithography and serigraphy. In the early years of his adult life, his growing passion for wood and design built his strongest identity as an artist.

In a productive passage through Boston, Carlos lived a couple of years refining his techniques in woodworking. The union of wood, art and design arose naturally, combining an elegant talent with outstanding technical precision.

With his Polymorphic Sculptures, Carlos Pollock searches for the creative beauty and transformations that capture the essence of human experience.
